Beautiful and nice picture and ship design. 31 years age is not very much for a cargo ship of this size, but perhaps bad times in shipping at that time, in 1929?? But I wonder; on the picture, midships, starboard side, there is a shaddow, perhaps indicating that there is a construction(??) on the ships side, or do I not see correctly? A midship, one sided extra rudder?? flaps, for extra ability to manouver the ship under certain conditions???

A beautifully rakish design which makes her appear as though she is moving at high speed (ahead), even when standing still. Or in this case, when going astern...
Car designers would kill to get this style embodied in a sports model.
