It is very nice to see this ship again. Last time I saw it was on a postcard my mum had. This was the 1st ship travelled as a young lad and it was the last too! We sailed As assisted migrants and for a fare of £10, we sailed from Tilbury to Montreal, Aug/Sept, 1965. Enjoy 1st days or so, then my brother & I spent 4/5 day sea sick in a inside cabin not nice and my mum having to wash sheets the bathroom down the hall. Shame it wasn't the "P&O Arcadia" it may have been a better trip. But I enjoyed the rest of the trip by Train to Toronto but not waiting in Montreal train station, I just remember being cold and tried. It must have been worst for Mum & Dad.

I see that the Miramar website does have 5024427 for Arkadia, New Australia, and Monarch of Bermuda, so the other pictures of Arkadia and New Australia on Shipspotting are the ones for which the IMO should be changed, not this one.

Beautiful Arkadia photo. There are also pictures of her on Shipspotting as the New Australia, with no IMO. Shouldn't the IMO on this one, and on those of New Australia, be the same as other pictures of Arkadia with IMO 5502442? That would be useful for "More of this ship".

It is very nice to see the first ship I traveled on: Montreal to Tilbury, July, 1965. Old and creaky and me in a room with three others and the bathroom down the hall. I sure enjoyed the trip, especially coming up on Ireland and the green.

Lovely. One of the best photos I have ever seen of this much criticised liner.
