1957-1958 rebuilt by Howaldtswerke, Hamburg
13/1/1958- HANSEATIC, Hamburg Atlantic Line, Hamburg
Fate: Caught fire in engine room at New York City harbour 7 September 1966
Machinery severely damaged
Arrived Hamburg 23 September 1966 under tow of Bugsier tugs ATLANTIC and PACIFIC
Sold for breaking 2 December 1966 to Hamburg shipbreakers (Eisen & Metall AG)

These Empress liners sure looked magnificent with 3 funnels! Though even as HANSEATIC she still didn't lose her charm.
