Good info on her schedule, Rick.
Pity she won't be calling at Busan, though.
And, her yard delivery is scheduled...a wee bit earlier. :)

Lloyd's List or not, but in her Class documents she still goes as "18.400 TEU container carrier".

I talked in 2003 with a Maersk superintendent on a ship chartered by Maersk, we went for lunch and he talked at that time about 22000 TEU ships ready in the drawers !!!! At that time kind of,,"oh yeah, sure" today not far off !!!!

News just released on Lloyd's List: MSC OSCAR will measure 19,224 TEU, making her world's largest containership by a very small margin:

Rick, so far I have only heard rumours about the big M ordering container ships larger than Triple Es...but I'm sure those rumours will be substantiated sooner rather than later. ..

Another shot on target Vlad.
Good & interesting work, as always. Thanks.
@ Ruslan &
@ Vlad: I am still waiting for the first 'MalaccaMax' of 22,000 teu, to be announced.... & which was supposed to be the limit.
I wonder...?
Regards, Rick

Yes!
I remember when I was studying at Marine university and then started my sea career, Clifford Maersk and all sisters were unbelievably large. And it was hard to predict that todays ginats are going to appear. But it happened! :)

Thanks, Ruslan.

Yes, the race for the largest container ship is on...
Pretty soon, ships of this size will be common sight all over the world...
