Thanks, Stefan. Now I see the origins of her look...

Hi Denis!
The 'Blankenese' has a interesting building history. She was one of two sister vessels built 1984/85 from the Elsflether Werft. The shipyard used as basis for this newbuildings the hulls and superstructures of two existing general cargo vessels built 1968/69 at Schulte & Bruns Schiffswerft.
The first vessel was 'Blankenese', that stemmed from the older 'Geise'. See http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1729019
It was followed by the 'Borgfeld' as a rebuilding of Randzel. See http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=992507
Brgds,
Stefan

Takeover..
she's sold from Latvian to Greek owners

She still is a very odd looking vessel, like if having a distinctive look was one of the requirements.
