HMAS Adelaide (L01) is the second of two Canberra class landing helicopter dock (LHD) ships constructed for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Construction of this ship started at Navantia's Spanish shipyard with steel-cutting in February 2010. The ship was laid down in February 2011, and launched on 4 July 2012.

Yes Clyde the separation from background , foreground is perfect, no masts going into something, not always possible though as I have found in many a location !

Thank you Nigel. I have heard that it was cheapest to leave the ski-jump ramp from the Spanish design although fixed-wing flight operations are not planned for the ship.

Nice photo Clyde. High topsides on the hull. Presumably there is a lift to the flight deck that could handle a couple of F 35 B's if Australia decides to get that version of the JSF ?
