Description:
The Norway vessel was in port of Klaipeda for repairs, but got into a hurricane "Anatol" and was washed ashore December 4th, 1999 , near the resort town Palanga. Where she staid for 5 months, until she was bought for one US dollar by Juozas Maziliauskas and renamed her to "Laime" (Happiness).
On 22nd of April 2000 m/s "Laime" (Happiness) was brought afloat and anchored on the raid of port Klaipeda. In May 2000 a storm began and the vessel started drifting to the shore of Curonian Lagoon having only one anchor... To prevent running aground tug "Gervazas" rushed to her aid and towed it into harbor to the shore of the Curonian Lagoon and moored it not far from the island "Swine Hump" ("Kiaulės nugara") where the vessel stayed for almost two and a half years. Since the new owner had no money to pay, Closed Joint-Stock Company pick up a the vessel with all the debts and sold it for scrap.(slide scan)
