Hi Jose (JDAP). It was just luck. I was at the right time with the appropriate sun at Casilhas. We were waiting at Casilhas for the ferry to return to Lisboa when S.Paulus appeared at full speed and with its nice yellow...
By the way, I enjoy a lot your Lisbon shots. Nice job.
Thanks a lot for your kind comments Jose.

This you call design.

Most of the Hamburg Port Ferries had a diesel electric propulsion system. They made a very special sound which I can hear clearly looking at this great photo.

Thomas

Hi Ted. Thanks again by sharing your sea life memories. My first time at Hamburg in 1979 as 2d. Mate, and let me tell you that some times I think too about old times and the good sea life years back. Times that will never came back again. Its sad. Just memories of the past...
Well my friend they did a good job at the training scholl at Hamburg...jeje

@ventuari
Well, She was the Suelldorf in the beginning and I remember in May 1975 when I arrived in Hamburg as 17 year old teenager and had to navigate my way from the HH main train station to the Landungsbruecken (Ferry Station in HH at the elbe river) and from there with just this ferry to Finkenwerder where at that time a seamans training school (Moses-Fabrik) existed. After that for 2 month every week 3-4 times on one of those ferries back and fore to HH-City for theorethical school. Practical things were done in Finkenwerder like boat and fire stuff and knots and whatever else.
Everytime I see one of those a lot memories coming back. I think in HH port area is still another one of the old ones doing port excursions with tourists

Is this a old ferry from hamburg,, the St. Pauli ? ran the HH port for HADAG (ot HAPAG)years. ? Looks to me exactly like those old ones which we used while transferring from the Finkenwerder Moses-Fabrik to the technical/nautical school in Hamburg-St.Pauli. Even the name seems to be only slightly altered. S.Paulus = St.Pauli

Hi Rick. Nice "yellowy sun ;-)"...jejeje . I like a lot the yellow colors and the sun reflections on the shot, but agree with you about the name. By the way 57 years old and still running, and let me tell you that runs a lot. In the shot almost full brakes arriving to the Casilhas terminal (coming at full speed from Lisbon )
Thanks a lot for your kind comments my friend.

Well caught in the yellowy sun ;-)
I much prefer the name 'São Paulus' to 'yellow boat' jeje.
