Davidshios, the machinery actually is sitting aft. The containers have been stacked high enough to make funnel invisible. With due respect but I don't find this a (technically) good shoot as published here. Some post processing could have resulted in a much better picture.

I am with you on that David,, looks good this one, also when I personally prefer the real old reefers with derricks and midships superstructure

Well, it looks like a nicely-balanced design - bridge and machinery midships. Nice sheer and flare forward. We don't have many like that on SS, and they are mostly black-and-white.
