No more ships calling there since August last year. That port had been in operation since the thirties.

Interesting view from a long time ago. Not many photos from Churchill, Manitoba, on this site, a port on Hudson's Bay which is open just a few months a year during the summer.

A great picture. Like others say, what makes the picture is the two kids watching the ship, perhaps future sailors both of them. Very well maintained vessel, from the "Golden age" of Norwegian shipping...

What makes the pic for me are the two kids. Is their father in the crew? Or did they just happen to be passing by, wishing they were going to other parts of the world.
