Hi Vlad,
Today I checked Kure shipyard by Live camera and it found out that the hull was started to be painted in ONE colour not in black. So I think that she will be the first ship for ONE as Jan T mentioned.
I will visit Kure after her launching fot taking photos.

Thanks for the info, Hannes. I still have difficulties to imagine her entire hull in this color...

Hi Vlad,
Well the colour in your picture and on the "One" website is definitely more pink then magenta. Magenta is way more a purple colour like colour (we used to correct paper charts with a magenta pen, but now it's only digital sea-charts).
Cheers,
Roy

Thanks for your comments and the information. I am glad I didn't see the news on ONE's color before, as this scene from JMU was a great surprise to me... :)

And, Ruslan will know, there are people not so familiar with the color magenta, as we only called it dark pink... :)

Cheers

Vlad

This was announced earlier this year. So not a surprise. Still nice to see the first ship in the new ONE colors. Btw, the color is 'Magenta', not pink ;-) (Does anyone recall the Labour Party's Womens' bus?)

Hi,
it's the 10th vessel of the "bird" series (JMU 5112, IMO 9784788). I think all new ships of NYK, K-Line and MOL will be painted pink because of their merger (called "ONE"). The new website shows also pink containers: https://www.one-line.com/

Hi Vlad,
The only box-ships to be built by JMU that I am aware off are the ones for NYK, i.e. the "bird" class (10x) plus another 5 extra (lifted options) that should be identical.
I hope others can shed more light on this. Maybe it's just a primer and it will turn black in time......
Talking about pink container ships, I shot the Conti Germany back in 2007 and she was completely pink (deckhouse as well, will post her soon).
Cheers,
Roy
