Description:

GUAHAN I
115 x 32ft
Probably wrecked during Typhoon Ponsona on 8/12/2002 (info provided by davidships).

This wreck was supposed to be removed two years ago, but was obviously still there when I revisited the Apra Harbor on Guam last week.

Thanks for the info, David. This also made me search online, where I found the US DoD survey document, which was ambiguous on the date of the wreck: "Went aground during 1992 storm, or possibly Supertyphoon Pongsona (Dec. 8, 2002)".

What was supposed to have happenedL
"As part of the recent settlement deal, Guam Shipyard has also agreed to spend $250,000 to $330,000 to remove an abandoned vessel called the Guahan-I on the shoreline of the outer Piti Channel in Apra Harbor."
