👍🏼 Well, thanks to Emmanuel and the other supportes and of course the Admins! I think, it's worth to be generous to atmospheric shots - a bargain for the page- my personal opinion - Anyway Thanks again - Kind regards Marc

Well Bob , maybe Administration has seen the "light in this midnight shot", and came out with a positive conclusion.
Thanks to all, we have saved this remarkable photo.
best regards to all ,Admins. included of course.

This is a competition shot ,worth being used by the BALTIC QUEEN owners on their publicity and being framed ,hung on their owners office walls.
I endorse seaweasel proposition,I hope Administration seriously considers this.
best regards and thanks Marc for sharing and all the members for their support towards this remarkable photo and Marc, the photographer.
Regards and thanks to all.

This picture is certainly a great athmospheric shot with a wonderful composition, but unfortunately there is no appropriate category for creative photographs like this. I regret that like many other members do but as long as this site is lacking such a category we should deal with deletions of such creative pics in a more rational and relaxed way. I also had some of my pics deleted and didn't agree with some of these decisions but it wasn't a big thing for me to accept these deletions after once more reading the site standards....

Perhaps the admins will add another category for a limited number of creative pictures on a trial basis in the near future ?

Best wishes to all of you, Hans

Regardless what the outcome will be - I saved my copy, too!

Nothing to add to what Emmanuel said (as always ...;-).

Best regards,

Michael.

I think this photo is very well composed, very well balanced, the crescent moon, the lighted up vessel, the lighthouse, the silhouette of the shoreline on the right. Destined as a desk top photo for me. Thanks Marc for sharing with us this remarkable composition.
best regards

I'm just curious ... what kind of process is it that will lead to a 'final decision' - is this somwhere explained in the site standards?

Perhaps someone who knows can tell us about?

I think, the more transparent decisions like this are, the more they are accepted.

Another 2c from me, now my purse is empty ... ;-)

Best regards,

Michael.

Marc, your contribution to SS is appreciated by all as you have lots of great photos. But we shouldn't judge the appreciation based on one or few photos considered for deletion.

Thanks to all of you for your interest -and some support.
But still on "Holding"!? Michael shows a interesting way for development...
@ Admins - Please decide, how to get forward, it will be an important sign for me, if my contributions to this site are appreciated or not - Kind regards from Riga - Marc

I've had a look at Railpictures.net. As Michael says, there is a possible solution there. I recommend that people take a look, especially at the Photo Album section. Very interesting.

More zoom would not have helped under these lighting conditions. I can understand both "sides" - but the site standards and the way they are enforced prohibits creative and interesting pictures.

How it can be done better? Railpictures.net shows a way ...

These are my 2c ...

Very nice and unique photo but I have to say that I agree with the admin on this one. A bit too far and can't see much ship details.
Just my 2c...

Pretty and artistic as this pic might be, it doesn't meet with site standards. No point in having standards if exceptions to them are regularly to be made.

person
Agreed, it should not be considered for deletion.

I can understand the Admin's reason for Deletion. A bit more zoom would have helped. Nevertheless, I could not agree more that this is a one of a kind type shot.

Considered for deletion? Surely not. This is an awesome photo.
