A total of 16 Liberty ships had been re-engined. Ten in Italy (Genova, La Spezia, Trieste and Taranto), four in France (Nantes) and two in UK (Newport, Mon).
@davidships FEDE, FENICE and PAN were also re-engined at Nantes in 1961. Rgds

There were four Libertys bought by Zim in 1961 from the French Government:
FEDE ex-ABBEVILLE ex-JOHN TRUMBULL
FENICE ex-CAEN ex-ANDREW PICKENS
PAN ex-AURAY ex-URIAH M ROSE
VELOS ex-SEIN ex-JAMES MOORE
but so far I can see, only VELOS was re-engined and upgraded.

A re-engined liberty ship? I newer knew there was one. Diesel engine? The funnel suggests that ...

But ok, they did everything with these 2100 ships - even built a nuclear reactor into one.

Best regards,

Michael.
