The 1943 Tacoma built C3-S-A1 type IRENE VALMAS, owned by A.Valmas, which was formerly owned by Nederlandsch-Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Mij (Holland America Line), is seen passing Portishead inbound for Avonmouth from Santa Fe exactly fifty years ago, on 22nd September 1969.

Launched as U.S.S. BASTIAN, projected as H.M.S. LUCIFER
