Emmanuel don't worry I know exactly whom you are as though we are sometimes few metres apart you never said hello but no worries I wish you the best of health .... Good to hear that you try not to mislead information but I can't understand how a passenger ferry catamaran was allowed to use a name of which there's another vessel locally with the same name - http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=3265645.....

Regards & Stay Safe

Lawrence, even though for me this is a hobby , I am very wary of any information, many a time I have been misled when in the morning I look up marinetraffic and I see that some very interesting vessel is in harbour, such as an aircraft carrier at Pinto wharf ,or a vehicle carrier in dockyard creek in the yacht marina, only to find nothing, and how about the mysterious ghost yachts in the same marina. So I only am sure of what I see. Even on Google I have observed mistakes (and not only on marine items).
As I have said this is only my hobby but I try to load exact info so as not to mislead anyone who uses my photos for publication with my permission as many have done so without any monetary profit for me save for a book or magazine sent voluntarily.
I am now 76 and not in my best of health, and have been years loading marine photos and thus somehow putting the name of our beloved island on the web.I would like for someone younger to continue doing so.
Thanks for all info .
keep safe ,stay healthy.

Lawrence ,a number of names and numbers have been bandied about, so I am a bit sceptical about any information supplied, no one is infallible, mistakes can and have been made. But I thank anyone who has contributed towards explanation and discovering of their names.
Thanks to everyone.

Emmanuel no other names will crop up as it seems that you don't believe what others say..I stated BASTION 4 and BASTION 5, I was there onboard so I know what documents I saw....Yes all boats will be homeported in Ulaan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia and none of them are going to any navy.

Thank you Capt. Dalli for the information. I didn't find in the documentation on internet the news that the G 97 FAIS and G 100 LIPPI were decommissioned. The decommissioning documentation I found was about the G93 ANGELINI – G95 CIORLIERI – G101 LOMBARDI and G102 MICCOLI and about the G92 ALBERTI, G109 INZERILLI and G115 ZANOTTI.It seems the G92 ALBERTI and G115 ZANOTTI again were donated to Lybia and could be the G109 INZERILLI was used as donor for spare, but I have no information. May be the G95 CIORLIERI of the second batch of decommissioned vessels will appear as Bastion 4. In Savona there is one of this class of vessel laid up. When we will be out of the present lockdown I will try to know the name of this. Regards and my compliment for your MaltaNews. Baldizza.

Thanks Baldizza for your comment. Yes I confirm BASTION 2 is ex G 101 LOMBARDI and BASTION 3 is ex G 93 ANGELINI. Meanwhile the two above are G 97 FAIS and G 100 LIPPI of which I was aboard all the time when they arrived. Meanwhile same company has bought the ex G 102 MICCOLI renamed as BASTION 1. All vessels are not sold to Libya

Hello Bjørn. That is correct according to Navypedia. Corrubia class G91 Giudice was renamed Tazerbo and then Ubari. The patrol boats were delivered end 2018.

Coast Guard in #Tripoli received "Ubari", a patrol boat formerly named "corrubia" out of Messina, #Italy, to join the "Fezzan" (received in October) in patrols, surveillance, maritime policing, and counter-smuggling/trafficking ?????

Hello Emmanuel.
Sorry I did a mistake. G93 and G101 are now Bastion 3 and Bastion 2. The same owner also have the Bastion 1 ex G102 Miccoli and a vessel named Bastion 4 with the same GT but no indication of the old name. The two decommissioned patrol boats sold to Lybia in 2018 are G90 Corrubia now Fezzan and G91 Giudice (I don't know the new name). I am trying to find which other patrol boats were decommissioned and to match a name for these two. Regards.
Baldizza.

Hello. Not sold to Lybia, I think. That happened in 2018, other vessels. These are 2 out of the four cancelled from the military vessels according to a interministerial decree as : Cancellazione dal Speciale Naviglio Militare dello Stato/Corpo della Guardia di Finanza delle Unità Navali guardacoste d’altura Classe CORRUBIA II Serie G 93 ANGELINI – G 95 CIORLIERI – G 101 LOMBARDI e G 102 MICCOLI. According to Capt. Dalli of Maltashipnews they are G93 and G101. Regards. Baldizza
