Morning Malcolm,
Thanks for your reply on my message. I followed the fate of the vessel since she is laying in Liverpool. I even considered to visit her. An enthusiastic group did quite a lot of work on the old lady what I could see. Just to let you know my very personal interest in "Alte Liebe"... She was my late fathers first command as master. He took her over from the yard and has been on her until 1962. A great part of my childhood holydays I spent on her. At one time she was carrying the workers of Deutsche Werft between Landungsbrücken and the yard. Many a times I acompanied my old man on the afternoon tour from Finkenwerder to Landungsbrücken. Well, thats the story beind it....
Thanks again Malcolm
Bestregards Jürgen

Thankyou Jürgen. Several years ago she was moored just outside a drydock which was used for shipbreaking and looked to be next in line. She was then purchased with the intention of her returning the vessel into service on in the Irish Sea. Her port side was painted black before she was abandoned. After partly sinking her situation was stablilised and she was towed to a remote berth to await her fate. Best regards. Malcolm
