She must be the EARL OF PEMBROKE, partly rebuilt for filming.

Sorry for wrong identification in my earlier post.

She is the KASKELOT:
http://www.square-sail.com/
and http://www.tallship-fan.de/index_e.htm

At the time the picture was taken she belonged to Clearwater Holdings Ltd., registred at Jersey. In 1983 they bought (?) the ANNE-MARIE GRENIUS and renamed her KASKELOT in 1984. Before the renaming the vessel was rebuilt to barque rig in Troense, Denmark for filming.

Her film role in 1984 was Scott’s TERRA NOVA (Ships Monthly 8-1984). As such she made it to the UK, Norway and Greenland. According to Ships Monthly 10-1984 she was expected back in Denmark September.

Clearwater Holdings sold (?) KASKELOT to Square Sails Ltd. in 1988 without change of name. The name CREAM OF BRISTOL was a short-time charter name in 1996.

According to the Square Sails homepage the vessel was bought by them in 1981 so it looks to me like Clearwater Holdings was an interims company for rebuilding her and for the first film role(s).

Regards,
Werner
