WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Belonging to the least succesful ships of the seventies was a series of seven steam turbine powered OBO's built in Japan for the account of C.M. Lemos. All of them were gone by 1985, two of them prematurely because of explosions. The last one AUTHENTIC is shown here discharging tapioca at the GEM Europoort terminal. Tapioca was about the worst bulk cargo that one could get and the fact that these ships had to accept it was already a sign that markets for these ships were pretty poor in the early eighties.
