Description:
The Shipping Corporation of India (originally the Western Shipping Corporation)'s 1959 Lübeck built VISHVA JYOTI arriving at Liverpool from Veraval exactly fifty years ago today, on 19th May 1974.
Although launched as VISHVA JYOTI, she was delivered as JALA VISHVA JYOTI for a two-year time charter to Scindia.
VISHVA JYOTI was laid up at Calcutta from 26th July 1984 until beached for scrapping locally in January 1986
