She was built 1966 by Mitsubishi, Shimonoseki as a rail/vehicle/passenger ferry, and later rebuilt.

1966: Delivered as TOSA MARU (Japan)
1988: SOUNDS OF SETO (Japan)
1989: Lengthened, and rebuilt from rail/vehicle/pass. ferry to passenger ferry.
2000: RISING STAR II (Panama)
2001: RISING STAR IV (Panama)
2001: MABUHAY NUSANTARA (Indonesia)
2024: Still in service.
