Hi Jadran
Look in my harbor overview pictures
you find some of the grain terminals on the Mississippi River
the main difference between this and the Missy towers is that here the conveyor belt runs over the ground whereas on the Missy they run on top along the towers
I guess has to do how the silos are situated ,,for example most Missy towers are relative close to the silos and therefore run them down and up again would not make sense on top when it is low, that traffic can,t pass under

Thanks Captain Ted,, first time I've seen such type of strictly looking *tower* loaders/unloaders ....... I'm much more used to a different type which I could call a *standard* type.

And the most important to herewith say:
Very nice & interesting photo, Marc ... thank you for sharing !
Best regards from Rijeka, Croatia

@Jadran
They are just spout towers, either for loading bulk cargoes or discharging , arms are folded out and then staying over holds discharging by suction and loading just both with conveyors

For what purpose/usage are those onshore 2 strange towers seen by the ship's portside ??
