Sorry, 600 tons is a typing error, should be 300 tons.

I don't recall seeing a 600t derrick that worked same as Stuelcken on "normal" cargo ship - the strongest pure Stuelcken was like 450t. JUMBO CHALLENGER had 500t derricks. But the mightiest Stuelcken-like derrick was like 900t - original crane barge called TOG MOR.

Hi Ted, again. I'm not saying that it is Stulcken, which i also wrote. Nevertheless, works on the same principle and external appearance of the mast is another thing. These heavy cranes Germans called it schwergutgeschirr, schwergutbaum, Geschirr; Jumbo cranes were significantly greater capacity, necessary only 600 tons (Jumbobaum, Jumbo) and not miserable 60. Furthermore, just type as Priozersk was used for ships built in the former West Germany, for example Heidelberg, Heilbronn. Maybe i should write "cranes working on the principle Stulcken" because its name does not have. :-)Toyota versus Mercedes :-) alright. Ask systems that operate on principle Stulcken were several.

@ ASNYK,,, in german shipping terms they called SCHWERGUTBAUM "JUMBO" but the stuelcken was always called STUELCKEN.
If you say,, Schwergutbaum is Stuelcken then you can say also Toyota is Mercedes because they are both cars !

Of course, it is not the original Stulcken, but the principle is the same. How then called crane working on the same principle, but with vertical masts? Germans for it had no special term, they called it schwergutbaumes.

LRS say heavy lift derrick was 60 ton.

This is no "Stuelcken" , This was the East-German copy-cat, they changed the mast design and called it then their "invention". Original Stuelcken is always like a "V" , Looks like a 60-80 ton.

Hi Denis..120t might be a bit on the high side don't look as strong as the Stuilckens of the same era? Bridge is very boxy but cheap and easy to prefabricate in sections off yard. Nevertheless quite attractive looking ships!

This Stulcken was 60 ton. These ships Mercator type were built in 1972 to 1977. 17 ships built for ex USSR and 4 for DDR (East Germany). Priozersk scrapped at Alang 12.2000.

Nice one, Mike! She looks kinda composed out of simple shapes here, compared to similar looking vessels from the same period. Even those "upside down legs" for HLD instead of classic mighty Stuelcken's posts. How much was the HLD? Some 120t?
