The Bertina is the wreck of a merchant navy dredger stranded at Baie-Mahault in Guadeloupe since September 18, 1989.

History:
Built in the UK at Blyth Dry docks & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in 1973 under the name W.D Hilbre, it was renamed Bertina in 1983 and became the property of the Carimat1 company.

On September 18, 1989, Hurricane Hugo caused it to run aground in the Birmingham sector, in Baie-Mahault in the commune of Baie-Mahault.

Description:
The ship measures 70.66 m in length, width of 11.81 m and depth of 5.11 m. Its two engines are 2,000 hp Blackstones. It could thus reach a speed of 11 knots and had a dredging depth of 22 m1.
