Description:
A surprise visitor to Hartlepool this afternoon was the sailing ship MORGENSTER from Holland.
The "Morgenster’ is a sail training vessel, taking up to 36 trainees and 10 crew on voyages all over the World. Twenty-four can sleep on bunks in 4 two person cabins and 4 four persons cabins. Another 12 can sleep in hammocks in the saloon.
On day trips up to 12 miles off shore they can take 90 passengers.
She is seen here passing the Pilot's Pier with the Heugh Breakwater (New Pier) in the background.
