Delivered 17 March 2011 by Oshima Shipbuilding (Yard #10592); at Newcastle NSW. Given the heightened awareness of environmental issues, the bulker was very noticeably fitted with what is claimed to be the world’s first SCR NOx removal system installed on a low speed marine diesel engine, designed to meet emission controls as stipulated by the IMO.
