I served aboard Itchen in 1985 with the RNR.I worked on the Sweepdeck as a Minewarfare Rating before transferring to Ribble at Liverpool,my home town.Crew compliment was 30 as I remember.I still have my watch rota for Ribble.My first trip was on a Friday evening,English channel and a Force 10 storm ! Sick as a dog.Had previously served 15yrs in the Navy aboard Aircraft Carriers so not used to these small craft.The building in the background was the HQ/Training unit.
