Viktor Lenac yard, I was there in 2009 with the UBC Sacramento. Nice and good dock, also when in that time not very efficient, but then with a Navy vessel, efficiency might not be the top priority

Very nice picture!
For those asking how come a US Navy vessel is in a foreign shipyard - well, as someone mentioned, it is not uncommon at all. It is cheaper to find a shipyard around her homeport than to send her back to the US.

Regarding the sensible equipment on board - as everywhere, the are not left unattended. This ships are well guarded and the shipyards they are in are also on a "higher" level of security...

LCC/JCC-20, Blue Ridge Class Command Ship home ported in Italy. Beginning March 19, 2011 she served as the command ship for the UN sanctions against Libya. Given the large amount of sophisticated electronics on board I am surprised that she is laid up in Croatia although it is common for US Navy ships to be repaired in foreign yards.

Mislio sam da je to zabranjeno svugdje sem kod nas,al eto vidim da nije tako. KOd nas je problem odlaganja grita, kako je to kod vas rijeseno??

The U.S. Navy sends it's warships into a Croatian shipyard for major overhaul. No wonder the U.S. shipyard industry is practically nonexistent!
