Built by Ewald Berninghaus, Köln-Deutz, Germany
Yard/Hull no. 809
Launched: 06.1972
Delivered: 11.07.1972

First name: Wappen von Heiligenhafen
Subsequent names:
1987 - Atlantis III
2004 - Gloria Dei
2005 - Gloria D
20xx - Atlantis (according to her AIS-signal)

Call sign: DHJF
MMSI: 211551610
... and she's flying the German flag, not Panamanian, as can be seen on the photo.

Gt/Nt/Dwt: 907 / 336 / 223
L/B/D (m): 52,10 / 10,42 / 2,12

A sad sight... she's in lay-up since 1999 as I understand it, at first at Sonderburg, Denmark, then Arnis, Wischhhafen and since around 2004 at Hamburg.

Go ahead, Mohammed. Lagos - Hamburg... it doesn't matter where, the main thing is she's restored to her old glory. (Tough it would be a pity that if she went to Lagos I'd not be able to see her again...):-) :-(

Yes, Dirk, I agree! Don't know what the current owner is up to. In 2005 she should have gone to South America for service there, but obviously this never happened. I like the night club idea. Enjoying some cocktails while having a look at the harbor... But judging from the sight of her that would demand for a lot of money...
I think Harburg harbor is worth exploring it. I believe there are some interesting ships "hidden" there. Still got to explore it thoroughly myself!

What a pity! If she weren't in that sad a state, she might be a nice addition to our HafenCity, maybe as a floating restaurant and night club, don't you think? Jens, thanks for sharing - and time for me to go explore Harburg harbour.
