They load the holds with onions/general cargo. These tween deck ships have the ability to load 2 different cargoes in the one hold, once the bottom hold is loaded they close the deck and fill the next. The decks on the Spliethoff vessels have a lashing arrangement for yachts to be lashed to. The containers around the edges of the ship are empties that are used to prevent wind and other elements from affecting the yachts.
