Unfortunately, if these ships were to be stretched they would be too long. It is, however, a pity that when built they were not just a little longer. Also, a less angular funnel would have been better. It would have suited the generally more rounded lines of the ship.

Nice to see that we are all in agreement that the Statendam-class were still quite good looking ships. I did always feel that they would have looked better if they had been a bit longer. I do wonder why there were never stretched. Now there is an idea for the bean-counters at Carnival! ;-)
