Description:
Icebreaker built in 1979 by Versatile Pacific Shipyard, owned by the Canadian Government and used by Fisheries & Oceans Canada and Canada Coast Guard. With its powerful diesel-electric propulsion system, this icebreaker is an essential tool for the Canadian icebreaking program. This vessel can carry sufficent provisions for 140 days at sea. In addition to sophisticated navigation and communication equipment, the ship has a landing deck for helicopter.
