A fortunate survivor of pearl harbour's sneek attack as I recall, and a outstanding example of immediate pre-war cruiser! mrdot.

The Cruise Ohiggins CL-02, ex USS Brooklyn CL-40.fue the first and last of its kind.
The other ship of the same class as the Chilean Navy had was the CL-Cruise 03.que Capitan Prat was decommissioned in 1983.
The CL-02 Ohiggins Cruise, sank while being towed to its desguaze.

Yes she is a sister.

In the early 1950's for political reasons, the USA Transferred two each of the Brooklyn class to Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

Google BROOKLYN CLASS for histories.

Just wondered if this is the same design of the 'ARA General Begrano' which was sunk in action by British submarine 'HMS Courageous' during the Falklands Conflict in 1982?

She has all the attributes in her overall look & details as of the famous great battleship USS MISSOURI.
With her everything is being a size smaller, but at my first glance at this photo I thought it was MISSOURI or one of her 3 more sisters (total 4 sisters of the IOWA class).

The fire power of these ships was staggering.

On trials a sister USS Savannah fired 14 shells over the target, then 14 short then went to full rapid fire , 136 6 inch shells fired within a minute of opening fire.
