Bieber became famous because of something huge, not tiny :the stupidity of the average person, lol

It's not the anchor holding the ship in position, but the weight of the chain too.

476? Just because of a tiny anchor? Are you kidding me?

In this case maybe even Justin Bieber (eww) got popular because of his tiny part, lol?

Maybe that's the reason of the quote "great things have small beginings :p

Thank you both for the extremely useful info Peter & jadran. The funny coincidence is that yesterday i was informed that i passed my last course: which is about heat treatment in steels with chemical compositions in C,Mn,W,V,Cu,Mg etc

Hello Roy
The ship's anchors are usually/normally made of material so called DUCTILE CAST IRON with chemical composition being Fe (iron) 93,5-94%, C (carbon) 3,2-3,8%, Si (Silicon) 2,8-2,2% and Mn (Manganese) 0,5-0%.

Anchors are always made of pure steel??

The steel or cast steel has specific weight of 7,85 tons per cubic meter ...therefore it is the fact, more volume = more weight; less volume = less weight!
