Emmanuel,
An excellent series of pics of a class of ship we don't often see on Shipspotting.
I've sailed on Hartland Point twice, two 3 month trips so 6 months onboard all told. She's the second last ship built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast.
She isn't an actual RFA, although I appreciate that the work she does would indicate so. She is run by a private company (Foreland Shipping Ltd) on behalf of the MOD to whom she is on long term charter. As you say, the (British) crew are all special members of the Royal Naval Reserve.
She flies a standard UK Red Ensign - RFA ships fly their own 'defaced' Blue Ensign.

Thanks for posting,

Jim

Actually she is an RFA ship, by special arrangement she and others were built to serve as on a special arrangement to be used on a commercial basis but also as she is used by the RFA when needed in emergencies. Even her crew are classed as combatants and are under the Geneva prisoner of war convention regulations.

That's Hartland, not Harltand as it has now been amended to.

The ship is called Hartland Point - it is NOT an RFA vessel
