The Indian crews as I understand it , if treated well, made life for the officer's a very comfortable one, together with a well maintained ship.

A friend of mine still at sea would love to have spent his whole life at sea with Brocklebank's.

What really amazed me the first time I saw it was that when they got round to putting on the white top coat, they just had like rags in their hands which they dipped in the paint and wiped it on. They had paint up to their wrists. It was a long time before the words health and safety had ever been used together in a sentence.

The chipping gang are doing a great job here David, the derricks are just about stripped clean, and what about their make-shift stages made out of old bits of dunnage....brilliant!
Thanks for posting
