Thanks Kelvin,a sailing ship is best captured by the camera with her sails set, your photos captured those very beautiful moments. Unfortunately over here we cannot ever capture such photos in our Grand harbour as there is some regulation that says that these ships cannot set their sails in harbour.

Emmanuel, this ship was built by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a charity that operates sailing experience holidays for non-sailors, with an emphasis on disabled people. Building started in 1996 the ship was named in 2000.
They built a sailing ship not because they felt some sort of nostalgia for ships of yesteryear but because they felt it offered the best opportunity for teamwork etc.
Although it is extremely rare, I managed to catch it with some sails set a few years ago.

The trust began in the 1970s with a slightly smaller ship, Lord Nelson which is still sailing:

Well, once you ask me Emmanuel, I shall answer your query but without any intention to offend anybody.
Well, well ... this beautiful "oldish" ship seen on this nice photo of the today's date is : a fully alive ship, in one piece & floating in good order ... therefore I supposed that the people ( I assumed 13% of them on this website) who very much like Scrapyards, Casualties & Wrecks will not really enjoy in this ship & photo !!

Thanks cornelia, the TENACIOUS is a great candidate for filming standing in for tea clippers etc. Can anyone provide any more info if has participated in such filming?

Hi Jadran, she WAS built in 2000 in more modern material but with that exotic old look reminescent of the clipper days of the 1800s....and how did you come up with that rather strange 87% number?

: a great compromise of the very today & yesterday, can not be better ... maybe somebody can correct me !?

Year built 2000 .............. but appears "so much oldish".
