The end is near for the Georg Büchner ex. Charlesville. Tomorrow she will leave the port of Rostock for her last voyage. She will be scrapped in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
Really sad

Last Friday already? Congratulations!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll find a new company soon. Meanwhile enjoy your holiday. Maybe I'll be out on Saturday (if the weather's ok).

Cheers
Jens

@Jens, I am fine thank you. Last friday I got my certificate of Ship Mechanic, Now I have some vacation and I'm looking for a new company. So I have more time now to visit Hamburg to catch some ships. I just hope the weather gets better. For this week it looks not so good

Jadran: those portholes were added after she was permanently moored at Rostock.

How unusually lined portholes at her forward part ... in three tiers, just like steps & especially the third row of portholes which is even curved !!

And not even to mention the first row at the bow, that is so way down & so near to the ship's loadline waterline ... and all that being at the bow!!!

I think she is the last one of her four sisters. The city concil of Rostock gave no permission to sold her. She said the Goerg Buechner will be an historical monument

I hope she survives. She is one of the very few, if not the only, surviving colonial mailboat.
