Jens is right, draught was one of the main issues because the ships are heavier than their design weight. I also read something about stability concerns and issues with the electrical systems but I cannot verify those claims.

Greece would be a potential destination for them but Greek shipowners are not exactly flushed with cash at the moment. I fear these ships are going to be laid up for a very long time.

I expect they will find a home around the Greek islands..Should the price be right..A lot of those Greek ferries are quite old by now. That would be my guess anyway.
Not sure whether their size would be a good fit or not.

"Given the fact that these ships were designed for a very specific route in shallow waters..."

That's the point, I think, Cedric. I've heard that one big thing Scandlines found faulty was that they have too much draught.

Given the fact that these ships were designed for a very specific route in shallow waters and for very fast turnaround times, I expect them to be up for sale a long time. Even a more universally usable ferry like the Viking ADCC which was also cancelled a few years ago is still a metal carcass. There are not many of these short sea routes that would suit the ships. It is also rumored that there are serious issues with some aspects of the ships, which is way Scandlines cancelled their order.

What does happen to the new ferries? Does anyone know??

I wonder who will buy these ships now that Scandlines has rejected them.

The bridge reminds me of Geordie La Forge's visor in Star Trek...

Simply that they put the bridge structure in before adding the one or two decks that should have been below it...!

I'm not sure what but I think there's something wrong in the design of this ferry...
