I was 18 years old when I sailed the SL-180 / Sealand Venture as a wiper. It was a gorgeous vessel and I remember it well. Now I'm 60 and sailing as Chief Engineer on an SL-7 class vessel.

One can easily see the design similarity to Matson's later KAUAI and MAUI, which are both still sailing.

Would have been a fantastic Friday night classic, but Monday is fine by me, too:-)
Great photo of a nice ship, Allan.
Kind regards,

Ordered by Matson, hence the grey hull, for their abandoned transpacific service, but sold to Sea-Land in 1972 before completion. Sister HP Baldwin, IMO 7033020, became SL 181, then Sea-Land Economy.
