Description:

Red Funnel Ferry built J. Thorneycroft, Southampton 1931 - the first diesel ferry on the Isle of Wight run. 342gt, 11kts. Sold 1961 and operated out of Gibraltar until she returned to UK as restaurant ship at Brighton Marina in 1971. Only shot on site in her original form (shots of her at Brighton Marina mistakenly refer to her as a steam ship, which she never was !!. Photo taken summer 1960.
