The unmistakable look of a T2 (minus the derricks!) and what a remarkable life she had for a WW2, economy-built vessel: 34 years of trading.
Launched 11/08/1944, 10,662 g.t. & 16,613 dwt as:-
'Hovenweep' for the U.S. Government, to 1947 when sold to the Newcastle, UK based, Hunting & Son company, for commercial trading as:-
'Oilfield' to 1959,
'Northern Eagle' until arrival at Split, Croatia for demolition on 26/10/1978.

In 1962 the vessel was converted to a bulk carrier with a new midsection, built and installed by Rheinstahl Nordseewerke GmbH, Emden, Germany. Lengthened & widened with new dimensions of 183.7m (603ft.) X 23m (75ft.) and tonnages of 14,800 gross & 24,938 dwt.

Information courtesy of Miramar NZ, Sawyer & Mitchell's 'Victory Ships & Tankers' and my own notes.
Additionally, Auke Visser also has a page on her, with some good photos.
Regards, Rick
