The history and data of S.PAULUS as published in my new book LISBON FERRY TALES:

S. PAULUS (1996 – )
Steel motor passenger ship built in 1959. IMO: 5343598. ON: LX-3174-TL; CS: CSIS. Tonnage (GRT: 257; Net: 99). Dimensions (30.10 (28.17) x 7.50 x 3.65 x 2.75). Machinery: 1 DE Deutz type V6M536 / 380 BHP / 500 rpm, Germany; 1 S / 10 knots. P: 275. C: 4. Built by Scheel & Jöhnk, Hamburg (Yard Number 413), for HADAG as SÜLLDORF. Launched on 20-01-1959, delivered on 24-04-1959 and registered in Hamburg under number S 10148 for use in local river passenger services. As built her main particulars were as follows: Tonnage (GRT: 274; Net: 126). Passengers: 607. In 1978 she was converted for harbour cruises in Hamburg, being renamed ST. PAULI on 11-04-1978. Passenger capacity reduced to 293 passengers. In 1995 she was withdrawn from service due to engine damage. Sold to TRANSTEJO in 1996 and taken on board the dock-ship CONDOCK V in Hamburg on 6-07-1996 for Lisbon, where she arrived on 12-07, being floated out at the Alcântara quay and towed to Cacilhas. After an extensive refit in Cacilhas, she was registered in Lisbon on 23-07-1997, and renamed S. PAULUS, to operate on Transtejo's cruise services on the river Tagus. In 2010 the main engine was damaged and replaced by an MTU engine type 12V183TA developing 344 kW at 2030 rpm, transferred from MOURARIA. Following repairs and drydocking returned to cruise service on the Tagus in 04-2011.Still in service cruising in the river Tagus based in Lisbon in 2014.
