Thanks John: All is now clear. The Roll of Honour site shows photos of both Asturias but makes no mention of the later one....It appeared on reading that it was the rebuilt version of the first...
looking remarkably like the photo above, hence my confusion. Cheers.

A remarkable photo. Interesting to see the lower forward ports covered with doubling plates and what appears to be strengthening at the break of the accom superstructure. Its detail like that which sets these beautiful photos apart.

The Asturias scrapped in 1933 (12,002gt ON.124669)) was built in 1908. This Asturias (ON.148146) was built in 1926 and scrapped in 1957.

Thanks for the link Midway: But although that site shows a picture of the above "ASTURIAS", the information there is at odds with the above.

I quote from the Roll-of-Honour site:
"Remarkably, her hulk was repurchased by Royal Mail Line in 1920 and rebuilt as a Cruise Liner, renamed ARCADIAN she operated Mediterranean and West Indies cruises until 1930, and was finally scrapped in 1933."

The photo of "Asturias" above was taken C.1948.

Even though down graded to a migrant-carrying liner she was still very impressive.
