@ Emmanuel: These High Speed vessls can be fascinating indeed. My most impressive highspeed trip was with HIGHSPEED 5 http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=989715) from Ios to Santorini. We reached more than 41 knots. I dont´t think there is any other european ferry, reaching this high sailing speed during her daily crossings.

These high speed ferries fascinate me, I have been on the aliscafi between Naples and Capri, and the local ones in Malta. The JEAN DE LA VALETTE Imo.955973 built in 2010 in Australia is fantastic, she practically flies over the sea.On her delivery journey whilst off the Somali coast she was intercepted by hese pirates, but then she opened up her engines and escaped safely. She operates between Valletta harbour and Pozzalo in Sicily.

Hi Jadran,
very interesting to hear this from you! Hope you enjoyed your trips! The variety of ferries, was even greater in these times, than it is already nowadays, I suppose.
And I agree, this skyscraper seems to be the "all-dominating" building of Piraeus ;) An interesting shot down there, found at shipfriends.gr: http://www.shipfriends.gr/forum/gallery/sizes/63030-piraeus/large/
I guess, Athens international airport must be about 30 km behind it.

Thanks for your compliment! Regards to Rijeka.

Hi Florian !
This your good photo reminds me very well of my times and days spent at Piraeus/Athens during my numerous often visits to Greece within the time frame of exactly 20 years (1990-2010).
As I recall,, that imposing dark grey building/skyscaper can be seen from all parts and angles of Piraeus port & behind that hill (in the background) is the new airport of Athens; am I right !?

: yours great shot and photo; thank you for sharing !

Greetings from Rijeka, Croatia

Hey Shaun,
I guess we will see her sailing for a couple of years more. With 15 years of service she is in the prime of life ;)
This season she is employed between Piraeus and the west cyclade islands Serifos, Sifnos & Milos. Quite a contrast to her english-irish past, indeed.
Thanks for your compliment & comment! Greetings to Liverpool.

Another beautiful shot Florian! Nice to see her still in service, as Superseacat Three she maintained a link from my home town of Liverpool to the Isle of Man, which is located in the Irish Sea.
