Mumbles you are right, Cap San Diego is often mistaken for a real reefer, which it never was. It simply has these beautiful "bananaboat"-looks :)

It is a common misconception that Cap San Diego and her sisters were full reefers. I fact less than half their hold capacity was insulated for the carriage of refrigerated cargoes. They were part-reefers

Mein Schiff, Cornelia. I had a trip from Hamburg to Cuxhaven a couple of years ago. You could go anywhere on the ship from the bridge to the propeller shaft tunnel (while the engine was running 50 RPM!) An extraordinary experience. Thanks for posting these
top class photos, Cornelia. BR Niels

"Audio Tour", I think people can walk inside this container and listen to some info and see some films about the ship Jadran and Denis. It is some time ago, when I visited onboard. I did, and you can also eat food there, they have a small restaurant (mess room) and some cabins are also used as hotel-room. So, if you come to Hamburg.. you know where to sleep and dine in style.

Jadran, it was actually never a reefer ship, but a general cargo ship. It took all kind of cargo, initially had 2 reefer holds, later additionally 2 smaller ones added. But, also had 6 tanks (!!!) to carry heated oil - "Süßöl" - that is not for fuel but for other use. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cap_San_Diego

It'd be *facepalm* to see that even museum ships nowadays carry some containers just cause it happens they are on the same route, lol.
Nevertheless, great series of shots of this magnificent vessel, Cornelia! Well done!

Kind regards!

Do I see a container placed on the main deck forward !! ( for me,, it's much surprising to see a container-box onboard a Reefer museum ship);

Regarding this fine image I can only say ..... Photo perfection Cornelia !
