@ Mark
I must positively surprise you ..... this photo was shot FROM MY BALCONY !

Just to clarify your query:
Till today max length container ships attending Rijeka container terminal were of 334 mtrs length (same as PACIFIC LINK) and were coming to the berth at another angle, which was unsuitable for me to shoot them on their arrival.
In 2-3 weeks time will be attending Rijeka container terminal the max-max length containerships of 367 mtrs length that Rijeka container terminal can accept, and probably they will berth at the NEW angle (hopefully suitable for me to shoot them); same as the angle of berthing that is seen in this case for PACIFIC LINK ... maybe this was a TEST berthing at the NEW angle for the max-max length container ships that are expected & can be accepted at Rijeka container terminal.
In any case,, I have today bought myself a tripod (max H = 1,60 m) with a big hope that I can make more better shots of these *new big guests* to Rijeka container terminal.

Thank you very much for your compliment and kind comment, Mark !
Best regards
Jadran

@ Emmanuel
The CMA CGM engaged containership PACIFIC LINK is on regular container service Far East – North Adriatic.
The round-trip lasts 70 days (exactly) and in these sequences the ship is attending at port of Rijeka.
On the North Adriatic the ship attends the ports Trieste – Koper - Rijeka and it is not always necessarily that the herewith first mentioned port will be the first one, second or third one at the particular voyage of the ship.
For the case seen on the photo, it is almost certain (hope I'm not greatly mistaken ! ) that the ship arrived to Rijeka from Trieste or Koper.
Well,, I tried my best to provide an appropriate explanation (of hand) to you Emmanuel, and I apologize to everyone if all the provided info is not 100% accurate in some detail.
Kind regards
Jadran

Thank you very much, David !
I always try my best to give an "additional touch" to the image, if possible.
I'm happy that you like the entire composition of this photo ... and I remain hopeful that other more-or-less pleasing shots will come from my side.

Greetings to you and Hamburg from Rijeka

Excellent shot Jadran, i only wonder if this was shot from your balcony? Usually your "balcony shots" were showing the stern of the ship i think that this is the first series that you photographed bow of the ship?

Did you note Jadran the way the containers are stacked?, not in a neat way,Must have offloaded the top ones somewhere else. I wonder what was her port of departure, somewhere East I presume. regards.

Excellent shot Jadran! The composition on the whole with the tree, smoke and the distant mountains is really up to my taste!
