Very well captured picture at a great location.
And the ship:
one could arrange with the strange pattern on the bow, but the bland blue chimney blews it.

Thank you David. I varied my usual policy of limiting uploads to one per ship per day, to record the Harbour traffic that was about. See the link This Ship by This Photographer

The explanation by Malim answers Brett's question. In any case Athol buoy is preferable to the White Bay terminal because the 2 km tender ride to Circular Quay is much more enjoyable than a taxi ride through city traffic. And the all round view is memorable.

White Bay is OK for the P&O ships based in Sydney because most of their passengers are beginning or finishing a cruise with the consequent baggage handling requirements.

As far as I'm aware those cruise ships operating for the domestic market have priority at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, and I believe AURORA cannot use the Darling Harbour Terminal due to size. The only other possibility of an alongside berth on the East side of the Bridge is at the naval base in Garden Island, but I've heard that's now off the table so she had no option but to anchor off.

Evening, can somebody please explain why the recent 'anchoring' of cruise ships in Sydney ? refer also to Crystal Serenity the other day..I have no problem with it but an explanation would help ?

Very nice composition Clyde, as far as I can see a wonderful place to anchor off the quayside. And - in my opinion, a nice boat to center this shot.

David

Ha ha ozzy76 . There is not the same obvious benefit as balconies. Perhaps it is just a fashion thing for shipping companies? Many of them with the same ultimate parent.

Does the livery sell cabins? To people who buy from web sites and/or brochures.
