Simply astounding...a view of a bygone era....A fabulous one at that. And, Clive, I'd rather wager you'd swop your newly purchased classic car for this....if it were at all possible....Mmmm? (I'm willing to joint-own....)

Interesting that when you look up Talitha which was built only one year later it says "Builder: Friedrich Krupp Germaniawerft"... quite inconsistent this "Additional information" box...

Thanks for pointing this out, Peter!

Ship was built as HAIDA by Friedrich Krupp Germaniawerft in Kiel in 1929. Shipyard was destroyed by allied air raids during WW II and finally closed and dismantled in 1945/1950. More details on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Krupp_Germaniawerft

More about the yacht from former times:

Note: The current name of the shipyard differs from the name when the ship was built.
Hope this may assist. Regards Peter

Possibly one of the Summer reefers?

Which ship is berthed astern of Dona Amelia?

Edit
comment

person
Granted. But once that bill is settled, you could use your classic car to drive down to Cornwall for an inspection of Dona Amelia, couldn't you?

Edit
comment

person
Yes, I know but I bought a classic car only a few weeks ago and that is presently in the garage being checked over, so I expect a bill for work for that. So just now I fear I shall have to let the purchase of this lovely yacht wait a while.

Clive, it's only €23 million... ;-)

Yes, most certainly. If I had the money I wouldn't hesitate.
