The class notations quoted by Cody are irrelevant as to whether the ship is a product or crude oil carrier. "Clean" as used here refers not to the cargo that can be carried but to "Requirements for controlling and limiting operational emissions and
discharges"

If that is probable David, so has the source of the site Technical data.
See the Description now showing
(Equasis data) Type of ship : Crude Oil Tanker (since 01/09/2009)
(Site Technical Data) Vessel type: Oil Products Tanker)

Equasis has probably just shortened the description from that provided by IHS-Fairplay, which is "Crude/Oil Products Tanker"

Cody has advised (thanks Cody) that the Det Norske Veritas Exchange describes her as
Type: 101 - Tanker for Oil
Rule regime: Ship
Vessel shape: Monohull ship
Class Notation: 1A1 Tanker for oil Clean CSR E0 ESP TMON VCS(2)

Thank you mumbles. The category Admin will have to decide between the two data sources.

NS AFRICA is a LR2 (Long-range type 2) Product carrier with fully coated cargo tanks enabling it to carry clean petroleum products (as well as crude oil) and giving it the flexibility to ply in both clean and dirty trades.

Thanks Tropic for the Comment and advice. Category Admin can chose between Equasis and Site Technical Data (see amended Description)

Groovypict, thanks for the information and opinion.

Nick Smith, you are quite correct. (See amended Description)

Clyde BULLARA is at the stern and GLOUCESTER is at the Bow a part from that I love the pics you take. Great Work. Keep it up.

These medium sized crude carriers are periodically used for large volume product movements although jetA1 would have needed quite a bit of cleaning!

Nice catch Clyde. You may want to revisit the category though, my sources say it's bringing in a cargo of Diesel and Jet A1 (lots of it by the looks).

Cheers,
